Building Playspaces

Building playspaces is fast becoming our niche. This summer Grateful Gardens constructed a playspace at the children's school of Mills College. This is an innovative school where the children's choices are carefully studied. We installed several boulders, for example, and these proved enormously popular as play structures. There was also a "rock challenge" of river rock, and the kids indeed liked to balance on the uneven rocks. An imaginary fishing hole of assorted rocks was installed downstream from the water pump: all popular. The installation of redwood stumps as stepping stones and seats was another unplanned hit.

We're now heading over to San Francisco to install a playspace with components such as the zipline, giant sand pit, treehouse, and climbing wall. Stay tuned for more pictures.
